Candidates declared and ballots drawn

The 14 September election campaign is underway!

Nominations for the 14 September 2024 elections for the three Lane Cove wards closed at midday on 14 August 2024 and ballots have been drawn.

You can view the candidates running in wards across Lane Cove here on the NSW Electoral Commission site.

Three Councillors will be elected for each ward.

Some significant developments….

There will be no endorsed Liberal candidates in the election this year. There has been extensive media coverage to explain why this has happened.

We are unsure if Cllr Mort intended to nominate as the Liberal Councillor for Central Ward but, for reasons that are now clear, this is no longer possible.

Two of our current Councillors- Cllr Zbik of West Ward and Cllr Brooks-Horn of East Ward - have not renominated.

And Cllr Bennison, previously an endorsed Liberal candidate, will stand as an Independent.

The ballot was held today and you can view the candidates grouped by ward below (subject to final confirmation by the NSW Electoral Commission on 15 August, 2024).

For voting directions, visit the NSW Electoral Commission’s site.
